On the 4th December we were delighted to organise a special visit to Kernow House Care Centre in Launceston, part of the Barchester Healthcare, by partnering with Enchantment Cornwall to take two lovely reindeers along to see the residents! The staff really enjoyed the visit to and some brought along their children to meet the lovely animals, they were just missing a Father Christmas! Rudy and Ted were well received and enjoyed being fed and fussed. The Kernow House team helped warm everyone up with warm spiced apple juice, spiced cider and gingerbread biscuits. Some residents got to feed the reindeer some of their favourites and this definitely made a difference to their day!
Some residents don’t receive many visitors so it’s incredibly important to volunteer your time if you can. You don’t need to have any reindeers to go along to Kernow House – you just need yourself and compassion. The home are looking for befrienders, gardeners and anyone who might like to lead an orthodox spiritual group. Let us know if you can help with any of that!
